Airport Mob Incident In Russia
Israel has called on Russia to ensure the safety of all its citizens and Jews following reports of a mob storming an airport in Dagestan, Russia, in an alarming incident involving arrivals from Tel Aviv. Unverified video footage circulated on social media depicts an angry crowd inside the Makhachkala airport, where anti-Semitic slogans were chanted. Some crowd members even reached the airport’s runway and surrounded the aircraft.
The office of the Israeli Prime Minister has emphasized the need for Russia to take decisive action against the incitement of violence directed at Jews and Israelis. In response, Russia’s aviation agency has temporarily closed the airport, with security forces deployed to manage the crisis.

Dagestan, a predominantly Muslim Russian republic located on the western Caspian Sea coast with a population of approximately 3.1 million people, has initiated a criminal case for civil disorder in light of the incident. Local authorities in Dagestan urged those involved in the disruption to desist from unlawful activities and refrain from interfering with airport staff.
Israel’s foreign ministry revealed that the Israeli ambassador in Moscow is actively collaborating with Russian authorities. The ministry expressed severe concern over any attempts to harm Israeli citizens and Jews, regardless of their location. Israel expects the Russian law enforcement agencies to protect all Israeli citizens and Jews and take firm measures against both the rioters and those inciting violence against Jews and Israelis, as stated in their official statement.
